A disappointment

Our stay got off to a poor start when we were told that the dining room was fully booked for the evening - not a problem, we went into town and had an excellent dinner.
Housekeeping is not their forté - in the corridor outside our room a power point/socket had exposed cables. A power point in the room was coming off the wall. The room itself was large enough.
Breakfast was relaxed with mine host pottering about (even if our allocated table hadn't been properly wiped after dinner the night before). Mine host said he would bring us croissants when they were ready - we are still waiting.

Must-do restaurant

More than the fairly simple hotel but with a breakfast that is worth the detour, we highly recommend the restaurant which has a Michelin macaron for the quality of the products and the refinement of the dishes offered in 4, 5 or 7 course menus .

Nice place that needs some improvements

Very nice geographical location.
The place is beautiful.
There is enough to make it a very, very beautiful place without too much (financial) investment.
Friendly welcome.
I believe the establishment was taken over recently. We must therefore give the new owners a little time to make, in my opinion, some small modifications and arrangements (e.g.: hooks in the bathrooms to hang bath towels, change some furniture, particularly very dilapidated bathrooms, etc.)
The same goes for the outbuilding which also deserves adjustments.
And also make a real quality breakfast with fresh orange juice, good fresh bread, fresh pastries and products from local producers etc... because at 14 euros it's more than achievable.
I thought it was a shame that the pastries and bread were frozen.
Making a fruit salad is nice for breakfast (what's more, some fruits were no longer very presentable) etc...
That's why I give it 3 out of 5.

The best quality/price ratio on the "cote fleurie" in Normandy!

Jolie hotel! Just outside the center of Houlgate, in the green, but not far from the beach. We had a very nice room with two queen size beds, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent. Food and service were great! The best quality/price ratio on the "cote fleurie" in Normandy!
