Excellent Hotel

A fabulous hotel. The reception guys were very friendly and helpful.
Excellent room with view over lovely gardens and beach.
The room was spotless, lovely bathtub and plenty of towels.
We enjoyed an absolutely fabulous meal in their restaurant...fresh fish from the area and perfect veggies. The waiter Carlos was a lovely guy, very professional, friendly and helpful and spoke very good English.
Our car was taken from us at the front doors of the hotel and was brought to the parking area. Excellent service all-round.

Full-blown abuse

I find it regrettable that they're charged to breathe on their premises. We have been clients of family events since 2009 but from this moment we will not set foot in this place again. The cheapest Communion meal 93€ for adults and 60€ for children, which only gives you the right to enjoy the lounge 2 hours and a half, having to leave the premises at 4:30 in the afternoon. If you want to continue enjoying the lounge, you are given 2 options: either you pay €55 for each hour to seniors, or you pay €8.80 for each drink of adult diners (drink or not drink alcohol) and they allow you to stay 2 hours more for those drinks. The 93€ menu includes: Welcome cocktail,
Timbal of prawns and rapping, Roasted Galician Blonde rib cannelloni and Creamy baked cheesecake.
We have explained to the hotel manager that with the more than excessive price of the menu, these types of services should be included, but it seems that for them only the money matters and they do not care about losing customers.
Do not forget to bring Portable Oxygen Concentrator to visit this hotel, if you do not want to pay to consume the air of your facilities.

Beautifully positioned with wonderful views!

This hotel is beautifully positioned. The views are wonderful, and the rooms and staff are very thoughtful and kind. If you want to be next to clubs and in the middle of shopping area it’s not for you. Here, you are right by the water in walking distance to the beach. There is a lovely walk along the coastal path to Bouzas, where there are local restaurants, cafes, a supermarket, banks etc. And if one walks the other way, you reach some small beaches and Samil. I highly recommend this hotel. I have been staying here for many years, and will continue to do so!

This is a beautiful property with excellent staff and
m magnificent views of the Vigo Estuary. This is a peaceful location, out of the hustle and bustle, but very convenient to Vigo and is a good base for Bodegas tours and other tourist locations. The value is very good.

Good is sometimes not good enough.

We stayed here 3 nights and were there with a 4-figure EUR amount on the invoice. I expect a lot from a hotel in return. Unfortunately, the Pazo Los Escudos did not deliver fully in my view. That caught already at check-in. You book a beach hotel to have - right! - something of nature. Yet our first room had - "lobby view". In other words: we looked directly over to the lobby, since you hardly even dare to walk around in the room in underwear. So we had to change our room. Which was only possible the next day. Then we had a nice seaview. Many Senior Reviewers here write that they have received great upgrades from the hotel, and there is also talk of welcome drinks. We got nothing for free from the hotel. And had to pay for our upgrade, too. The room equipment, however, was good, just missing a small trash can at the desk, so you always had to carry waste paper to the bathroom and deposit there in the small cosmetic trash can. The Italian restaurant (with a separate review) we liked well, the service - top! Breakfast was not included with us, we can't say anything about that. The outdoor pool was freezing. The spa area should cost 25 EUR per visit and per head. I think that's quite audacious. And without a car, you're in the Pazo Los Escudos. Because there's nothing to explore on foot. Unfortunately, you can't stroll along the beach as we hoped and then enjoy a cool beer next to the hotel in a beach bar. The bar in the hotel has the charm of a canteen, so you don't really want to linger.
So it remains to be noted that our stay m Pazo Los Escudos was unfortunately not a direct hit for us. But tastes are different - maybe you will find more joy and entertainment in and around this hotel.
