The room was clean and furnished. The stay was quiet and the staff was friendly and accmmodating I have no complaints.

I was given a “smoking” room w/o requesting one. The sheets/blankets were dirty/stained/ripped. The staff was very friendly. But we won’t return. $150 for 1 night was way overpriced for the room.

Exraordinary Service/BY Hotel GM Ronetta Sam and REPS Shantel and Aida

My husband and I recently reserved Evangeline Downs because we were in Opelousas for a relative's homegoing services. We were in the hotel from Dec 13-16th. The room was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. The linen was extremely clean and the customer service was Superb. I would like to render an additional thank you to the General Manager Ronetta Sam. She immediately rectified an issue referencing the cost of my room. She exemplified great Customer Service while excercising EXTRAORDINARY Managerial Skills. Ronetta is the true Epitome of what a Leader should BE KNOW and DO. In addition I would also like to recognize Shantel and Aida, front desk reservationists who BOTH were rendered great Customer Service and Hospitality. Upon our entry into the hotel Both Shantel and Aida exuded friendly energy and professional attitudes, which is much needed, especially in this day and age. In my opinion All Evangeline Down Hotel Representaives DESERVE and WARRANT any compensatory award and or Valor allotted. Their kindness and professionalism was greatly appreciated. I would "HIGHLY RECOMMEND" this hotel while visiting the Opelousas area for business and or pleasure.

I have stayed in hotels all over the world, even third world countries. I have never stayed in a hotel in the United States that was as filthy, unkept, and understaffed as this one. There is black mold in the bathroom. When I hung up my washcloth over the bathtub faucet to dry, I came back to see a completely rusty washcloth. Rust is literally coming out of the pipes. The carpet is so filthy and damaged, I've just never seen anything like it. There's so understaffed that when I went to check out, no one was at the counter. When I inquired a woman that worked there told me that there's only one person behind the counter and that she does multiple jobs and I would just have to wait.I waited 15 minutes before I left. Terrible place to stay for the money spent!!!!
